Response
When disaster strikes your community, HCRN coordinates resources, partner agencies, and volunteer assistance to get you what you need now.
Recovery
When immediate needs are met, it's time to focus on getting back to your life. HCRN mentors local leaders to plan a successful community recovery.
Rebuild
Your home was destroyed and you want to stay in your community. HCRN brings in volunteers to provide the labor to rebuild and get you home.
Disaster Case Management
Every family gets a case manager who knows their file by name. We help navigate FEMA, SBA, and insurance paperwork, connect families to resources, and walk with them from application to move-in day.
You've heard it takes a village. In a disaster, it takes an entire network.
When an incident occurs, HCRN mobilizes a Disaster Resource Village—several components focused on the immediate needs of disaster survivors, delivered in collaboration with many partners.
This holistic approach covers Emotional and Spiritual Care, Financial Assistance, and physical support such as food, sheltering, cleanup assistance, and debris removal. We employ our logistical expertise to coordinate volunteers, collaborate with partners, collect data, and distribute resources.
Educating and mentoring local organizations for a successful recovery.
The Recovery phase is one of the most important elements for a community—and it can begin even during Response. HCRN works with local nonprofits to identify strategies for a successful community recovery, including developing a Long-Term Recovery Plan.
Disaster recovery needs to be led by local organizations. HCRN mentors these organizations to reach their intended outcomes—we've assisted hundreds of communities while remaining in the background, educating and bringing resources to the table.
Rebuilding homes. Restoring lives.
For communities to recover, they often must rebuild. But what about disaster survivors who don't have the funds to rebuild their home?
For two decades, HCRN has been rebuilding homes lost to disaster for those who could not recover alone. We partner with local Long-Term Recovery Programs to vet and fund rebuild projects—and as a licensed California general contractor (License #1075512) we offer our construction services at little to no cost, using volunteer labor and donated materials. We can do this because of our amazing volunteers, who travel from all over North America to serve.
