This Giving Tuesday, we’re looking back on the impact your support has allowed us to have across the State of California. From an earthquake in January, to flooding and a levee break in March, California communities needed a lot of help! Not to mention our ongoing work rebuilding homes following wildfires.

In Pajaro, California, HCRN deployed our Disaster Resource Village Command Center for two months of service, following that levee break. We helped over 600 households access supplies and cleanup assistance during that time. For months afterwards, volunteers gave up their weekends to repair homes damaged in the flooding.

HCRN has mentored nearly a dozen different California Long-Term Recovery Groups in 2023. Spending time on calls, understanding concerns and providing insight in to paths forward. Following the earthquake in Humboldt County, we worked to find ways forward for repairs and longer term plans for community needs. This is always the work that’s hardest to show to our supporters, as it is time and talking. But groups need a calm voice, and HCRN is proud that our supporters allow us to offer that calm voice at no charge to communities in need.

In Paradise and Happy Camp, construction has continued, because our volunteers have made it a priority to serve those in need. Just in Paradise, our volunteers labor will help add nearly $6 Million in value to the community. That’s an incredible number. That number is more than just dollars, that number is fire survivors being given the opportunity to stay in the community they love. That opportunity can’t be given a dollar value.

You make these accomplishments possible. You are a Beacon of Hope in Times of Great Need.
