This is the third week of the HCRN deployment in Pajaro, California. Our Disaster Resource Village Command Center is part of the hub at the Pajaro Middle School. The state and county are providing  hygiene services here including showers and laundry drop off.

Meals are provided twice a day through the American Red Cross. A bus service is provided every hour from the shelter at the fairgrounds to our Command Center. There are still between 250 and 300 people housed in shelters each day.  Many other residents are staying in hotels in the area or with family and friends.

HCRN has been mobilizing volunteers and helping to clean out water damaged properties, focusing on removing mud from affected homes. Some had mud up to 12 inches deep. Other organizations providing volunteers over the last three weeks include Team Rubicon, UMCOR and the Santa Cruz Volunteer Center. Cal OES and Cal Volunteers have also been so helpful during this time.

All Clean Emergency Services have provided the shower and laundry services here and they have been an excellent partner and have treated everyone so well.

Thank you to the American Red Cross for supplying tools for the Mud Out Day on Saturday, April 15. HCRN has been requested to stay here through the end of April.

Our command center serves as a hub for connecting the non-profit organizations.  Our office supplies and equipment are available to our partners (as well as snacks and drinks).  Clients come inside to request clean up help and to complete their FEMA registrations.

We are so thankful to provide services to so many during this difficult time.

If you want to help out you can volunteer here, or donate here.
