Hope Crisis Response Network needs volunteers like you to to help people get home following the LA County Wildfires of 2025. Every Saturday we’re sending out teams to help clean interiors of smoke damaged homes and make them safe and sanitary for their residents. We’ve seen a high applicant rate and without volunteers like you, we can’t help everyone!

What to expect:
You’ll arrive at either our Palisades or Eaton Fire volunteer meeting point, meet our staff and check in for your day of service. You’ll be briefed on safety precautions, including wearing tyvek suits and respirators, as we’ll be cleaning potentially hazardous materials in these homes. You’ll travel to your assigned worksite and begin cleaning hard surfaces, carpets furniture and other contents that didn’t need to be thrown out due to smoke damage. We plan for a full 8 hours of work, and at most projects we’re able to complete our cleaning in one day.
HCRN provides lunch and water throughout the day, but if you have any dietary restrictions plan on bringing your own lunch.

What exactly will you be doing? You’ll be helping out residents who were uninsured or under-insured at the time of the fire and need a little extra help getting back in their homes. One homeowner we helped had smoke damage from the fire coming close to her home, then had flooding when the rains came through with mud being pushed into her home. Our volunteers cleaned all the rooms, and made it so she and her three animals could live in the house again. While some were cleaning inside, other volunteers outside were helping move mud from the driveway and away from the house, so that it could be accessible again. It’s all physical work, but it means so much to the people we’re here to help!
If you want to volunteer, get signed up at our new volunteer page here. After that, decide if you want to help the Eaton Fire or the Palisades Fire and select a shift to help out!
