Pajaro has received a Major Disaster Declaration! This is a huge step toward the necessary assistance this community needs to recover. But even before that assistance becomes available, HCRN has been working hard to make sure the people of this community receive the help they deserve.

On March 25, HCRN opened our Disaster Resource Village Command Center to coordinate flood recovery work in Pajaro. In those first two days, over 200 families stopped at our headquarters to request supplies like tyvek suits, gloves, masks and garbage bags. A week later, HCRN fed over 500 people at a free community breakfast.

That work can’t get done without our partners and our fantastic volunteers! Volunteers like Monica who have been invaluable because of her language skills. She acted as a translator as well as assisting with data support.

HCRN will continue to serve the town of Pajaro. We are coordinating teams of volunteers to go in to the community and help residents with debris removal at their homes. As we move into more technical work, we need skilled volunteers who can help with repair work! If you have those skills and want to be part of this recovery, check out this page.

If you can’t volunteer your time, but still want to help you can donate here.
