Today one of our HCRN staff embarks on the next part of her journey. We are so proud of Sue Saunders and what a blessing she has been to our organization. She has managed volunteer teams from all over the country, been a mentor to our AmeriCorps teams who have served diligently to bring some normalcy back to Paradise, and been a wonderful friend to all of us here at HCRN.

In her words:

The Lord has blessed me the last 4 years with wonderful friends to live life with. Northern California became my new home in August of 2017 when I joined HCRN to help people who had their lives turned upside down by the devastation wildfires brought. I have learned so much about the joy and hope God brings in the midst of pain and loss. I have met and become lifelong friends with some amazingly resilient people. I am blessed. The last 10 months have brought me to a new chapter in my life. I am embarking on a brand new adventure. Fulfilling a call that God placed in my heart many years ago, I will be going to Peru to work with other Missionaries bringing the Gospel to the Quechua tribes. I am excited about the future. Thank you HCRN and the volunteers and Homeowners who have so graciously been “family” these past four years. God Bless You!

You’ve been an amazing part of Rebuilding Homes and Restoring Lives, and we know you’ll go on to continue the work of restoration. Thank you for sharing your life with us. We love you, Sue!
