Your support has gotten us to the finish line of our project in Lake County! Thank you to our donors, volunteers, our community partners and especially our homeowners who allowed us to be a part of their recovery.

HCRN arrived in Middletown just days after the Valley Fire of 2015. In the years since, we have responded to over 50 additional fires, but our base of operations has remained here in Lake County. One homeowner said, “While so much was taken away from us, what we received in help, support, and friendship outweighs the past.”
This month, we are celebrating the five and a half years worth of recovery work we’ve been able to accomplish. We’ll be celebrating with an open house on May 28, and posting some photos from throughout the years of our volunteer teams and homeowners.

When HCRN arrived in Lake County, there was no place to house the volume of volunteers we needed for rebuilding. Kevin Cox, our CEO and Founder, put in the work to secure funding and permission to build what became our Lake County dormitory.
The dorm is going to be presented back to Middletown during our open house. The building has been filled with love and joy from volunteer teams and family nights. It has been a wonderful home to our rebuilding project, and it will be even more wonderful for Middletown as the years go by.

If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you will likely have seen some of our photos from home dedications, and of our homeowners being presented with the keys to their rebuilt homes.
These homes were never just the work of a single, faceless organization, but the love and compassion of the community in Lake County, and of the volunteers who gave their labor and our donors who made sure that funding was secured. It doesn’t take a village anymore, it takes a city, a Hope City.

Our Lake County staff thank each and every one of you for playing a part in our work.
We are off to the next disaster and the next project, and we will continue the work of Rebuilding Homes and Restoring Lives, but for just a moment, let’s celebrate what an amazing experience it has been in Lake County.

Make sure to check out our facebook page to see some of the videos, and more photos we’ll be sharing during our open house.
Once again, we cannot thank you enough for what your part in recovery has allowed here in Lake County.
