Hope City

Compassion in times of great need

What is Hope City?

Hope City is a long-term disaster recovery base operated by HCRN, built to serve communities in crisis—long after the headlines fade.

Hope City provides the essential structure for rebuilding homes, restoring lives, and offering lasting hope to families affected by natural disasters like wildfires, floods, and earthquakes.

Whether you’re here to volunteer, give, or simply learn about the work we do—Hope City is your invitation to be part of something bigger.

How We Help

We don’t just show up—we stay. Our team works alongside local leaders, partners, and volunteers to repair and rebuild homes for those who have no one else to turn to. With a faith-driven mission and a heart for service, we believe recovery is more than construction—it’s community.

What are Special Events?

Special Events are timely, targeted outreaches to meet needs of fire survivors.

In a marathon, runners benefit from aid stations along the route to keep them hydrated, nourished, and providing access to medical support. These stations help runners finish the race. Our special events serve fire survivors in the same way, replenishing hope, meeting practical needs, and connecting hearts for the journey to recovery.

Examples include:

  • Large community gatherings (benefit concerts, prayer gatherings, festivals)
  • Building projects (shed builds, fencing projects, accessibility ramps)
  • Resource distributions (summer kits for kids, back to school resources, move in kits with basic home supplies)
  • Rejuvenating or equipping experiences (retreats, special gatherings, specific services)

What are Church to Church Sponsors?

Church to Church connects churches that want to help with churches in fire-impacted areas, who are using their local presence to support their communities in recovery.

Examples include:

  • Helping congregations rebuild and recover whose facilities were lost or damaged in the fires.
  • Partnership in specific outreaches to members of congregations who lost their homes in the fire.
  • Micro-grants to fire survivors or “adopt a family” programs
  • Targeted outreach to help congregational leaders as they both serve their congregations as pastors and function as “first responders” in their community.
