You have served Camp Fire survivors since 2018. Your support and volunteer teams have seen Hope Crisis Response Network rebuild 39 homes since 2021 and complete so many projects on top of that. Work that includes distribution centers, cleaning up Paradise schools so they could open in the immediate aftermath of the fire and most importantly creating relationships with survivors as they work through the trauma and uncertainty following this massive fire. You have donated over $2 million dollars in labor across all of our work here and that is worth celebrating.
We thought it was so worth celebrating, that we held an open house in Paradise and invited our homeowners, partners and anyone who has played a part in making this a successful recovery program.

Among the attendees and those we recognized were Adventist Health Foundation who has provided furniture and other material goods to our homeowners. Additionally, they have donated goods to be used in the immediate response to other disasters as they’ve arisen.
HCRN can’t do our work without the support of our donors and partners like North Valley Community Foundation and Paradise Rotary Foundation. Both of these organizations were instrumental in funding our staff and operations for the final year of our rebuilding work. We can safely say we wouldn’t have been here as long as we were without their generous support.

We also took this opportunity to recognize one of our partner volunteer organizations, Christian Public Service, for all of the amazing work they’ve done on our rebuilding project over the years. This group is made up of young men who serve for six months at a time and they’re taken care of by a family who serves for a full year. The current family were just finishing up their last few weeks and we wanted to recognize Ted and Anna and their two young boys for their commitment to seeing fire survivors return home.
Our friends from the Tzu Chi also stopped by and had a special gift for our CEO Kevin Cox. The Tzu Chi work to give direct assistance to fire survivors and they have provided volunteers across disasters.

A surprise guest from Congressman Doug LaMalfa’s office brought a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for Hope Crisis Response Network and all of our work serving Camp Fire survivors.

The Camp Fire Collaborative has been instrumental in seeing fire survivors return to their communities. Bruce Yerman of the Camp Fire Collaborative presented us with a plaque to honor HCRN for our exceptional service on behalf of Camp Fire survivors.

But what is an open house without cake? This one was almost too pretty to eat.

There have been so many memories and so many projects from our time here in Butte County. If you have ever set foot in our camp, thank you. If you have been able to support our mission of Rebuilding Homes and Restoring Lives, thank you. But most importantly, if you have had the opportunity to impact the life of a Camp Fire survivor, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
