Our CEO, Kevin Cox serves as the chair of the California VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) this year.  As chair, he is coordinating meetings between statewide nonprofits, LA area nonprofits and agencies from across the country. These meetings define the need, help distribute the supplies and resources into the right areas and ensure that supplies coming into LA are the items that are needed. All this happens on a daily basis.

Kevin has been supporting the director of the Emergency Network of Los Angeles (ENLA) which is the county VOAD organization and serves as a hub for volunteers, supplies and information. HCRN staff will be deploying to Los Angeles later this week, for on-site review and securing a location for deployment of the Disaster Resource Village.

The county is still putting together plans for the Local Assistance Centers which will provide information and supplies to the affected residents. HCRN may deploy as part of the Local Assistance Centers to register local residents and provide a secure database for nonprofits to share resources with those families.

Please pray for us as we deploy into the area. Many details are still coming together.
