Response
You’ve heard it takes a village.
In a disaster, it takes a city.
A Hope City!
When an incident occurs, HCRN mobilizes its Hope City Disaster Resource Village (DRV). The Disaster Resource Village is made up of several components that focus on the immediate needs of disaster survivors. This response is done in collaboration with many partners and provides for all the key elements that provide a holistic approach to one’s well-being. Those vital pieces include Emotional and Spiritual Care, Financial Assistance, and Physical support such as food, sheltering, clean up assistance and debris removal.
Hope City employs our logistical expertise to coordinate Volunteers, collaborate with partners, collect data and distribute resources to meet the immediate needs of disaster survivors.
Recovery
Educating and mentoring
local organizations for a
successful Recovery
The Recovery phase of a disaster is one of the most important elements for a community. Recovery can begin even during the Response Phase. With our vast knowledge of Recovery, HCRN works together with local Non-Profits to identify strategies for a successful community recovery, including developing a Long-Term Recovery Plan. Disaster Recovery needs to be led by local organizations. HCRN mentors many of these organizations to reach their intended Recovery outcomes. HCRN has assisted hundreds of communities while remaining in the background to help educate and bring resources to the table that ensure every community can achieve a successful Recovery.
Rebuild
Rebuilding Homes
Restoring Lives
For communities to Recover, they often must Rebuild. But what about disaster survivors who don’t have the funds to Rebuild their home? What can they do to stay in their community?
For two decades, HCRN has been Rebuilding homes lost to disaster for those who could not Recover alone. We partner with local Long-Term Recovery Programs, to vet and fund Rebuild projects for disaster survivors. We offer our construction services at no charge to the homeowner. We can do this because of our amazing volunteer base. Volunteers travel from all over North America to serve, and these incredible people are our greatest asset.
Hope City For Kids
Supporting Children in Disaster
We are proud to team up with the Family of Charles M. Schulz to present Take Care with Peanuts as part of our Hope City for Kids!
This program takes a child centered approach. HCRN has a school program aimed at elementary school children to learn about preparing for an emergency and following a disaster we provided targeted lessons on grief and loss.
