Message from the front lines:We have just returned from Jackson TN. where you may recall that they were hit by an F-4 tornado. The town is devastated. Our team worked with Jackson Family Worship Center to provide emergency shelter at an old abandon hospital. The shelter is up and running and is currently housing over 100 people. This organization is also providing over 1500 meals a day to misplaced families and emergency workers. It will take several months for some of these families to find new residence; some will be at the shelter for up to 8 months.
As of now, there are many needs to be fulfilled.
- Furniture - as you can imagine when you lose everything, you have to start from scratch. We are currently collecting household items of all kinds, from kitchen appliances to living room and bedroom sets.
- Another outstanding need is $1800.00 to assist several families to pay off burial expenses with local funeral homes. If you wish to contribute, please make your tax-deductible gift payable to HCRN and please mark Jackson, TN in the memo box. We will see that 100% of your gift goes to the right place.
- Finally, the Dream Center which is run by the Jackson Family Worship Center is in need of another work crew to help in restoring their emergency shelter. We are currently scheduling a work team to go to Jackson on June 13-15. We need plumbers and general construction professionals.
