College Spring Break in Mississippi

Forget about hanging out on the beach, these college students worked during their school break. Students from three Indiana colleges traveled to Mississippi during March to work with Hope Crisis Response Network. The students faced cramped housing quarters in local churches, but displayed great attitudes and strong work ethics as they took part in clean up and rebuilding efforts.

Jessica Bush, who led a group from Indiana State University, says "The whole week went really well. Our students are already asking, when are we going back?"

Students from Indiana University and St. Francis University also worked very hard during their time in Gulfport.

The college crews were able to work in a number of neighborhoods, from cleaning out homes in St. Bernard Parish in New Orleans, to cleaning and painting at churches in Gulfport, and even spending time working on the future home of HCRN's Hope City.

Thanks so much to all of our college friends, come back down and we'll grill and work some more!

Kevin
