In less than two weeks, the nation will mark the 5th anniversary of the most destructive hurricane in American history. On August 29, the Gulf Coast will look back at the monster storm and the devastation and change caused by the wind and waves. Hope Crisis Response Network staff and volunteers headed into the disaster area within hours of the devastation and worked for nearly four years, cleaning and rebuilding. Our work began with medical teams that flew into Louisiana and provided immediate aid for those hurt and injured in the storm and continued with Indiana doctors and nurses who staffed clinics. At the same time, HCRN coordinated food and water deliveries into the coast and began directing volunteers into clean up work. A partnership with 12 local churches then developed and Hope City was born. The mobile volunteer camp was set up along beautiful U.S. 90 in Gulfport. The camp hosted weekly teams of volunteers that cleaned up debris and then rebuilt homes for needy families. One of the homes rebuilt by HCRN volunteers in Mississippi. Lives were changed forever as a result of Hurricane Katrina, but lives were also changed as believers came together to bring restoration and hope. Thank you to each and every person who worked with Hope Crisis Response Network following Hurricane Katrina! You brought hope and healing! You are a tremendous blessing! Thank you to the many HCRN volunteers who have helped over the last two weeks, with storm clean up in Northern Indiana. Thank you to the chain saw crews who worked in the area clearing downed trees and damaged limbs. HCRN staff and volunteers have been working since the June 23 storms to assist homeowners in need. Remnants of a barn litter a county road south of Goshen, Indiana.
If you storm damage in your yard and need assistance, please call our offices or e-mail for more information today. Hope Crisis Response Network, providing hope, help and healing in times of great need
