Thank you to Pastor Al Kinsey and family, Randy Perry, Ray Balogh, Valerie Cox, Steve and Char Binkley, Leslie Harris, Kevin Harris, Kevin Moss, Rick and Cathy Hawks, Mississippi Power, Brian , Greg and Debbie Jones, Kevin Ridgeway and our good friends Ken and Dawn Wetzel. We could not have done this without you. The weather was absolutely beautiful and made for the perfect night. Marian Booth, one of the survivors we work with was a treat to sit and visit with, she gave a moving testimony how our volunteers have touched her life, especially Leslie and Dennis. Thank you both for loving unconditionally. ( It’s not hard to do with Marian ) We had over 50 families stop by throughout the night. It is so good to see how they are improving. What a joy it is for us to be in their lives.

Kevin Ridgeway captivated us with his illusions and tricks while Debbie Jones treated us to her beautiful music while husband Greg worked the sound. To top off the evening we gave out a few recognitions. Republic Airways received our Corporate Sponsor award while Mississippi Power received the Corporate Partner award. Mike Gusa and Todd Terrill were on hand and spoke very kindly about their relationship with HCRN. Next we gave away our Volunteer of the Year Award. Ken Wetzel of Biloxi, MS received HCRN’s highest honor for his selfless acts of heroism and volunteerism. It was also my privilege to nominate Ken to receive the “Presidents call to service award” which he received in the shadows of Air Force One on August 28th 2006. Great Job Ken and thank you President Bush for recognizing what we have known for some time. By the way we are trying to raise support to put Ken on staff fulltime.
