Tornado damages crosses counties in Indiana and Michigan Print E-mail

     Powerful weekend storms created several tornadoes this weekend. 

The National Weather Service has confirmed tornado destruction in

Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan.  An EF2 tornado swept a four mile

path from Stevensvile to north of Berrien Springs, a smaller EF1 tornado

began in Cass County near Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac

and traveled three miles.  In St. Joseph County, a tornado was on the ground

for more than 11 miles.  

     The strongest tornado from the night was located in central Indiana,

EF3 tornado that swept through Cass and Miami counties.  County officials are

continuing to record the damage estimates from the storms.
