The massive destruction which has devastated Haiti is difficult to watch without seeking a way to offer help.  Thank you to our many volunteers and friends who have offered to work through HCRN to assist in this disaster.  HCRN serves in U.S. based disasters, but many of our partners are established with staff working on the ground in Haiti.

Our hearts and prayers are with all of the relief workers in Haiti.  Many of us are reminded of scenes from other disasters as we witness the needs of the Haitian people and the massive losses.

Note the following reminders regarding disaster help from individuals.

  • Please remember that only designated agencies, mostly medical responses, are sending in volunteers at this time.
  • Cash donations to reputable organizations are the best way to offer assistance at this time.
  • Collections of household items, even personal care items are discouraged at this time.

If you would like to be part of team working on rebuilding and repairs in the coming months, remember that you will need a valid passport and up-to-date immunizations to travel safely to Haiti,

Hope Crisis Response Network, a Beacon of Hope in Times of Great Need.
