How does HCRN  help a family affected by disaster?  Your donations and your help have a direct impact on lives.

In New Albany, Indiana, our staff met a family of seven living in a two bedroom home.  The mom and dad had allowed their son's family to move in with them after they lost their jobs in a plant closing and then lost their home.

During extensive flooding in southern Indiana, this small home is flooded and the furnace is ruined.  The family is without flood insurance and they are all unemployed, because of the economy, except for Grandma.  Replacing the furnace is a challenge because it was located in a root cellar and was in danger of flooding again.  Plus, the six year old grandson is fighting a second bout of leukemia and is not allowed to come home unless there is heat in the house.  The only way to fix the problem is add a room on the house and put the furnace on the main floor.  But where does the money come from to do all of this?

Thankfully, your donations give HCRN the means to help families in distress.  HCRN volunteers built a new utliity room and installed a new furnace in this home.  The six year old boy is back at home and is in remission!  Amazing!

Thank you!  Your financial support of HCRN makes success stories like this one possible.  Thank you for providing blessing to hurting families.  You are making an impact and overcoming disaster and economic difficulties.

Your year end gift will ensure that HCRN can continue to be "A Beacon of Hope in Times of Great Need."
